Our office in Gidea Park was opened in late 2019 having seen a number of our clients from the East London area move to Essex over the years and ask for our assistance in dealing with their properties in the areas in and around Gidea Park. It made sense for us to open an office in Gidea Park to serve our growing clientele in the area, and the opening of the office on Balgores Lane just by Gidea Park Station heralded a number of new instructions from the local community who have bought into the OC way. The location ticks a lot of boxes for buyers and tenants alike and we have found the properties we put up for sale and let in the areas have been quickly snapped up.
For those who enjoy quick transport links into the city yet still wish for a quieter way of life, Gidea Park provides the perfect balance. Gidea Park benefits from its own mainline railway station (across the road from our office), with journey times from London Liverpool Street within half an hour. It is on the Elizabeth Line which is part of the long-awaited Crossrail network offering access into the City and onto Heathrow Airport in good time. The A12 road borders the north of the town and J29 of the M25 is within easy reach, being less than 4 miles away.

The housing stock is mainly 1920s / 30's semi-detached houses with some modern developments of apartments in and around them to cater for the growing inhabitants of the area. The area was also part of the exhibition of house building in the early 20th century when many of the houses and cottages in the area were built as part of an ongoing housing design competition amongst the best architects of the day. These houses are known today as the "Exhibition houses", and set in their garden suburb known as the "Exhibition estate", the properties are fine examples of the domestic architecture of their time and are a significant feature of the Gidea Park area. Six of them are now listed buildings. A further 35 houses, mostly of contemporary flat-roofed design, were built in 1934–35 in Heath Drive, Brook Road, and Eastern Avenue for a Modern Homes Exhibition. It was an introduction to an area that soon became increasingly popular among buyers often coming out of London, and that trend has continued to this day with the vast majority of our buyers and tenants coming from London to move to an area with just as many benefits but with a slightly slower pace of life.

Being within the London Borough of Havering, Gidea Park benefits from excellent bus routes and District Line tube stations such as Hornchurch and Elm Park are also nearby and easy to reach. The major retail centre of Romford is only about a mile away with its famous market and large selection of shops and facilities including the major Liberty and Brewery shopping centres. Raphael Park is on the border of Gidea Park and Romford and has a beautiful lake as a centre piece. Children can enjoy the good-sized play area, while others may want to have a game of tennis or simply a leisurely stroll around the park. For sports enthusiasts, there is a choice of golf clubs and numerous gyms and leisure facilities within the vicinity whilst less than 2 miles away in neighbouring Hornchurch is the highly regarded Queens Theatre.
