Estate agents in Leyton
OC Homes started its journey in our current office on High Road Leyton back in the summer of 2008. It was an area that was on the up, with some below par housing coupled with some hidden gems, nestled between the then post-Olympic bid resurgence of Stratford and the newly gentrified area of Hackney. Leyton had the beautiful Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses on tree lined streets, as well as a choice of local parks and was ideally situated for transport links with the Central Line Tube Station and a number of bus routes along the High Road - it was prime for a boom.
As the years passed and buyers recognised the benefits of living in Leyton, they started to look twice at this district of east London, loved for its community spirit, improving transport links and value-for-money period property. The old run-down period homes were being bought by young, enthusiastic new buyers who often brought out the original features of the houses and created amazing living spaces. As the housing stock improved as did the investment in the area, with new independent businesses opening up, and famous old pubs restored to their former glory.
No part of Leyton illustrates this transformation more so than the sought after and popular Francis Road. Once a looking tired street with a few old shops and worse for wear flats, the gradual improvement of the area resulted in a number of new boutique shops, bars and restaurants popping up, with the area later being pedestrianised to make it family friendly and easy to access for the many new inhabitants of the newly restored houses and flats in the surrounding roads. It is now the shining light of Leyton and often the first thought for many buyers or tenants when looking at buying or renting in the area.
Leyton is a suburban area of east London and part of the London Borough of Waltham Forest. It borders Walthamstow and Leytonstone in Waltham Forest, Stratford in the London Borough of Newham and Homerton and Lower Clapton in the London Borough of Hackney. The district includes part of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which hosted the 2012 Olympic Games, although it is predominantly residential. It consists mainly of terraced houses built between 1870 and 1910, interspersed with some modern housing estates. Leyton is located on the edge of Epping Forest so residents here can enjoy lovely walks, Victorian parks, boating lakes and fresh air. Although it may feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of London, Leyton Tube station is actually on the Central Line which takes you directly to Tottenham Court Road in about half an hour.
